GN 14 – Production, storage, transport and supply of gases for use in food. Revision 2: 2015.

This updated guidance note is now available, providing advice to producers and suppliers of food gases on how to comply with the Food Safety Regulations.  Companies that supply gases for food use have to meet specific legal obligations and are required to ensure food safety.  The Guidance Note includes coverage of the production and supply of food gases in bulk, the use of cylinders and other transportable receptacles, dry ice production and supply, and the supply or use of on-site gas generators.

Bristol gas tank attacker caught on CCTV

Police are hunting a man caught on CCTV trying to carry out an attack on a gas tank in Bristol, which a business owner says could have caused a serious explosion.

The attack took place on a pressurized carbon dioxide cylinder at Bristol Pub Gas on an industrial estate in Ashton Vale.

BCGA publishes an updated Code of Practice 6

Code of Practice 6 – The safe distribution of acetylene in the pressure range 0 – 1.5 bar. Revision 3: 2015 is now available. Members are eligible to download this document free of charge through the publications area of the site.

CP 6 synopsis:
Gives guidance on the safe distribution of acetylene at pressures between 0-1.5 bar. Both fixed and mobile systems are included, as are the statutory requirements.
